Hello World

I’m going to try to start blogging — most likely with a focus on code.

I am conflicted, however, with developer blogs — as too often I see articles on people’s personal blogs that are more “you must do this…” and not enough “this is what I learnt by doing this…”. I find that those articles are merely conclusions — and don’t dive into enough detail, and the thought process of how the conclusion came into fruition. That leads to people memorising things, rather than fully understanding them.

I’ve been considering live streaming recently — in an effort to dedicate more time during my weekends to my own side projects. Yes, plural — side projects… I want to start shipping more of my side projects, so they don’t just linger in the back of my mind, and cause me to jump around between them, because of how passionate I am about them all.

One of my projects is simply to explore as much of Microsoft Azure’s free/serverless offering, and to build a viable software as a service on a budget — without compromises. It’s an interesting challenge. We’ll see how it goes. I’d love to live stream some of that process, as it’s amazing what Microsoft are doing with Azure, and how much bang you get for your buck.
